Why do I partially line my alligator clips?

Adding some ribbon to the clip makes for a neater appearance, especially on little bows where the the pinch part of the clip may be visible.  I do leave a little metal showing so that it can easily slide into the hair without pulling, especially when making pigtails or ponytails.  Non-slip grips are included free of charge on all alligator clips so they stay put in fine or "barely there" hair.
